There were about 30 of these lined up to cross, but they stopped to let me through! Nice boys, they waved and mugged for the camera, although it was a little too cloudy to get a close up. I wanted to make sure I was almost across before I started goofing around with the camera.
Later that day when I was at the marina, the woman in the next boat and I were chatting and we saw those massive hoovercraft that the marines have for amphibious landing. They can carry tanks and hundreds of men. They literally look like buildings and they were a couple of miles away - they kicked up enormous amounts of sand (water?) so appeared to be floating on a cloud. There were three or four of them, but we were thoroughly impressed even by one!
